Could Nintendo survive as a software developer?

GoozerNation (blog) Hypothetical question, could Nintendo survive as a software developer? Currently, not considering the 3DS/DS, a lot of mainstream gamers see Nintendo's Wii and Wii U as a casual gaming console.     I also thinks they could survive. I heard Nintendo is going to release it's next venture.
